U.S. Marine Surprises Little Sister at High School Graduation Practice

“My older brother, John, and I are very close he is absolutely my BEST friend! Johnny has been stationed in Okinawa, Japan since June of 2012. He was able to confirm early on that he wouldn’t be able to get leave to come home in May 2013 for my high school graduation. Of course it absolutely crushed me, but I never wanted him to know that because he felt so bad. Well, Johnny was deployed from Okinawa to South Korea about a month before my graduation, and was probably going to still be there when it came time for me to actually graduate. Little did I know, my mom, dad, and Johnny had decided to set up a small coming home surprise for me.

As you can see in the video, the morning of my graduation (at my graduation practice) Principle Mrs. Crovetto had us all stand up to say the Pledge of Allegiance, and as soon as I heard his voice I started looking around and butterflies filled my stomach. I was just thinking, ‘could this really be happening to me right now?’ I turned around to see my mom, dad and brother walking up as he recited the pledge. My heart felt like it was going to beat right out of my chest; I couldn’t believe this was happening to me! I immediately start crying… tears of joy, of course. I was so ecstatic! Beyond words overwhelmed and very, very thankful for my brother working his butt off to beg his Lieutenant to give him this opportunity and for Mrs. Crovetto and my guidance counselor Mrs. Denise Latour for helping my family give me the absolute best graduation present I could have ever asked for!”
